GETTING A REFFERAL FOR AN EMERGENCY FOOD PARCEL FROM SCFB

When you find yourself in a crisis situation there are various agencies you can approach for support – mainly the Citizen’s Advice and the BCP crisis team.

The advisor at these agencies will ask questions to assess the most appropriate type of support for your situation.  If they decide that you are eligible for a food parcel, they will make a referral to us as your local food bank.

You can also seek a referral from local charities, churches, health visitors, social workers, doctors’ surgeries, your mental health worker and housing association.

Once you have been referred to us and have the relevant reference number, visit our premises during opening hours.

Please note:

  • We will require proof of your identity
  • Food parcels are limited to a maximum of 3 in 3 months, unless there are exceptional circumstances
  • You must not seek to obtain food from other food banks while we are working with you
